A clash ensued between cadres of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal and the police at Rajbiraj on Sunday.

The clash took place after RJPN cadres tried to foil an interaction programme where Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav was to take part at the Saptari district headquarters.

The programme that was scheduled for 2pm today at the residence of Chief District Officer is yet to commence following the clash.

Meanwhile, RJPN cadres are chanting slogan at the programme venue with the intension to disrupt the interaction.

Large number of security personnel has been deployed in the area to contain any untoward incident.
