A CPN-UML candidate for the local level elections was injured in a clash with Nepali Congress cadres at Diprung rural municipality-3 in the district on Saturday.
Indra Tamang, UML candidate for ward chairman in the rural municipality, was injured in the scuffle that ensued over a dispute that UML cadres reportedly tore up party flag of the NC, police said.
Injured Tamang has been taken to Annapurna Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar, a family member said.
The UML accused NC cadres of attacking Tamang with a baton during an election campaign.
District NC however accused UML cadres of tearing NC's flag and replacing it with UML flag from a pole. RSS
