Health Minister Gagan Thapa has expressed his desire to continue in the ministerial role in order to provide sustainability to the positive changes he brought during his tenure.

Speaking at a press meet organised to inform about Health Minister’s works during his nine-month tenure in Kathmandu, Thapa said he wished to continue as Health Minister in the next government. "I understand the obligations of a coalition government and I cannot say for sure what will happen. But I wish to continue as Health Minister to establish the positive changes made during my tenure," Thapa told the journalists.

Minister Thapa said he would continue his support to the new Health Minister if he could not continue his helm at the ministry. 

Thapa claimed the continuation of current measures taken by the Health Ministry would ensure access to quality health care for all Nepali citizens. He said he established health service as a national agenda during his tenure.
