At least 200 temporary police have resigned en masse in Nuwakot after being informed that they had been deployed to Tarai districts for the second phase of local level elections.
184 Myadi police personnel from Nuwakot submitted their resignation saying that they will not go to the Tarai districts during the polls.
District Police Chief SP Dev Bahadur Bohora said, "They submitted their resignation one after the other saying that they had quit the job."
In Nuwakot, 772 people had been selected for the temporary police job. They were to be deployed for the local polls from Wednesday by extending their service time.
