PM Dahal made such directives while addressing the graduation ceremony of 165th batch of Nepal Police inspectors after completing their basic training at National Police Training Academy, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu on Friday.
Saying that new challenges and complexities have emerged in the crime sector, along with the advancement of technology, PM Dahal urged the concerned bodies to remain alert to cope with the challenges in a more professional and effective manner. He underlined the need for improvement in quality of police personnel rather than number in order to improve the security management.
PM Dahal hailed Nepal Police for its role in holding the first phase of local level elections in a free, and fair manner. He said that he expected similar role from the police in the second phase elections and in the provincial and federal elections.
He further said that the government conducted the first phase local polls with a massive participation of people and making preparations for holding the second phase elections as a festival.
