The Parliament Secretariat has made public the schedule for parliamentary voting to elect the new prime minister.
Parliament Secretariat General Secretary Manohar Prasad Bhattarai on Friday issued a notice for the elections.
According to the schedule, nominations for the post of prime minister have been called for Saturday and the election will be held on Sunday.
After the seven-day deadline to pick a consensus prime minister ended on Wednesday, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Thursday wrote to the Parliament Secretariat to initiate the process to form a new government on the majority basis as per Article 298 (3) of the Constitution.
