A vehicle of Kantipur Publication carrying newspaper to Dang from Nepalgunj got into an accident at Kusum in Banke trying to avoid from running over a leopard.
The vehicle (Bhe 1 Pa 1781) with two persons on board skidded off the road injuring both its occupants. The injured are driver Bhawani Kandel and Ganesh Thapa. Both are receiving treatment at Western Hospital in Nepalgunj.
Driver Kandel said he was speeding on an empty road early morning when a leopard crossed the road. "I lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid from hitting the leopard," said Kandel.
The leopard escaped unscathed during the accident.
