The government has unveiled the budget of Rs1278.99 billion for fiscal year 2017-18 at the Legislature-Parliament.
According to Finance Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Rs804 billion has been allocated for recurrent spending, Rs335 billion for capital expenditure and Rs140 billion for financing provision.
With 22.02 percent increment in the budget size, the government has set a target of 7.2 percent economic growth in the next fiscal year.
Similarly, the government plans revenue mobilisation of Rs 730 billion in next fiscal year. The government has targeted Rs72 billion as foreign grant and Rs214 billion as foreign loan.
With new local units coming into existence, the government has earmarked Rs225 billion for local units.
