Issuing a notice following the announcement of local level election results on Sunday, Joshi expressed his gratitude to the voters whose valuable votes made him a respectful contender in the election and thanked the election officials. “I will remain committed to my promises I made with the residents of Kathmandu Metropolis during my election campaign. I will strive to fulfil the promises by working alongside the elected representatives,” he said in the notice.
Saying that victory and loss are natural process in a democracy, Joshi congratulated newly elected mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya and deputy mayor Hari Prabha Shrestha Khadgi and wished them a successful tenure.
Joshi lost to CPN-UML’s Bidya Sundar Sakya by a margin of 19,644 votes. He secured 45,269 votes while Shakya garnered 64,913 votes.
The counting result of KMC was declared on Sunday two weeks after the local level elections held on May 14.
