A jeep carrying police personnel deployed for local level elections met with an accident in Surkhet on Tuesday claiming the life of one police constable and injuring 25 injured others.
According to District Police Office, Constable Tara Chand of Rukum died the accident.
The jeep, Na 1 Ga 476, en route to Surkhet from Kalikot, fell some 200 metres off the road at Saunepani, Birendranagar-14 in the district, informed Cheda-based Traffic Police Office.
The injured are receiving treatment at Mid-western Regional Hospital and Deuti Nursing Home.
