As the candidates have been elected unopposed in two local units, polls are taking place in remaining local units only, according to the EC.
Election body said that people are participating in the voting process with a lot of excitement.
Election Commissioner Ila Sharma cast her votes at Lalitpur Metropolitan city-10 while another commissioner Sudhir Kumar Shah cast his vote at Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
