An elderly man died and seven others were injured when a bus they were travelling in hit a tipper from behind along the Bietana-Simsara in Morang district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Bhim Bahadur Lingden, 77, of Bajhgara, Dharan-15.
The bus (Na 5 Kha 8501) heading towards Kakadbhitta of Jhapa from Dharan hit the tipper (Ba 2 Kha 7185) this morning.
Trilochan Dhungana, Asmita Dhungana of Gaurdaha-1, Jhapa, Til Maya Tamli of Kanepokhari, Morang, Noya Gurung and Madan Gurung of Dharan, Chandrika Rai of Itahari and Gopal Bhattarai of Dharan-16 were injured in the mishap.
They are undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.
