EC warns of action for promoting parties during silence period
Election Commission on Friday warned of stern action against any party, institutions, candidate and individuals engaged in election campaign through social media such as Facebook and twitter during the two-day silence period that began on Thursday midnight.bookmark

Election Commission on Friday warned of stern action against any party, institutions, candidate and individuals engaged in election campaign through social media such as Facebook and twitter during the two-day silence period that began on Thursday midnight.
The election body said that it got information about election campaign through social media, which is prohibited during the silence period as per the Election Code of Conduct.
The EC urged all the concerned stakeholders to stop such campaigns immediately.
The constitutional body said that it would take stern action against those violating the election code of conduct as per the Election Commission Act.
