Director General of the National Parks and Wildlife Department Man Bahadur Khadka on Saturday confirmed that death of two translocated female swamp deer.
A swamp deer died on the day it was translocated to CNP while next one died the following day.
Now, the CNP has two male and three female swamp deer following the death of two.
The officials have planned to translocate 25 swamp deer including five male from the Shuklaphanta.
The CNP has assumed that extreme pressure on swamp deer due to long hours of travel and rising temperature could have caused the death of the highly-sensitive wild animal.
Information Officer of the CPN Nurendra Aryal said that the translocation process of the swamp deer is postponed for the time being due to rise in mercury as well as officials' deployment in the local level polls.
Director General Khadka shared that other swamp deer shall be brought during appropriate time of the winter season.
The translocation process of swamp deer was started from April 26. RSS
