A petrol bomb has been defused at Syauli Bazaar at Bharatpur Metropolitan City – 10 in Chitwan district on Saturday morning.
According to SP Deepak Thapa of the District Police Office, Chitwan, the bomb was discovered at an open field located 200 meters from Hem Raj Poudel's residence at Syauli Bazaar.
Poudel is a maternal uncle of Renu Dahal, who is a joint mayoral candidate for the metropolis from Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre).
A vehicle with registration plate number Ba 11 Cha 9030 parked at Poudel's residence was also vandalised, police said.
Police have detained 13 cadres of the Nepal Communist Party for carrying out anti-election activities. Cases have been registered against nine of the arrested NCP cadres. RSS
