3,500 police personnel to be mobilised in Kathmandu for polls
The Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, will be mobilising 3,500 police personnel for the upcoming local level polls in Kathmandu.The Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, will be mobilising 3,500 police personnel for the upcoming local level polls in Kathmandu, according to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti.
The police personnel will be mobilised for 687 polling centres for the elections being held on May 14, SP Chabilal Joshi of the Police Range said.
"We are mobilising the police personnel at many polling stations in Kathmandu and at the sensitive locations," Joshi confided, adding "We will also be mobilising 2,700 volunteer police personnel apart from this."
Joshi further added that Nepal Police will depute five regular police and five volunteer police personnel in each of the polling stations in Kathmandu and increase the number as per the necessity.
Kathmandu has KMC, Shankarapur, Kageshwori Manohara, Gokarneshwor, Budhanilkantha, Tokha, Tarkeshwor, Nagarjun, Chandragiri, Kirtipur and Dakshin Kali Municipalities. RSS
