DPM Nidhi decided to tack back his resignation following a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba held this morning. Dahal and Deuba had jointly urged the Home Minister to withdraw his decision and make the local polls a success.
Earlier on Sunday, DPM Nidhi had tendered his resignation voicing dissatisfaction with the move to impeach Chief Justice Sushila Karki. Nidhi is learnt to have expressed his disappointment over Karki’s ouster ahead of a scheduled hearing on a case concerning the appointment of Prakash Aryal as the inspector general of Nepal Police.
Minister Nidhi is likely to assume office from today following the recent development.
The estranged Minister had already shifted from his official residence in Pulchok to his personal residence in New Baneshowr. Minister Nidhi is likely to move back to the official residence after his visit to Janakpur for Janaki Nawami.
