The Yadav-led party, however, is participating in the first phase of elections scheduled for May 14 and has forged an alliance with the Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Nepal.
“We decided to participate in May 14 polls as the government has expressed commitment to endorse the constitution amendment bill,” said Yadav.
“Participating in the first phase of polls does not mean we have given up on our agendas. Our struggle will continue,” Yadav added.
The SSF-N and the newly formed Rastriya Janata Party are part of the Samyukta Loktantrik Morcha, but the two parties of late have expressed differing views regarding local level elections. The RJP has not fielded candidates for the first phase of polls scheduled for May 14.
