Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal (SSFN) led by Upendra Yadav has remarked that the impeachment motion registered against Chief Justice Sushila Karki is not only a premeditated attack on constitutional supremacy but also a blatant intervention in independence of judiciary by the government.

In a press statement on Monday, the party said the government’s move to impeach CJ Karki has attacked on the rule of law and is against the norms and values of democratic republic system.

“If the people at the helm of government abuse the state power and position to fulfil or try to fulfil their personal, group and partisan interests in an illegal manner to affect the independent judiciary, it would be a height of anti-democratic character,” read the statement, issued by central ad hoc committee of the party.

The party has called on concerned stakeholders to immediately recall the impeachment motion and honour the dignity of judiciary.
