A flash flood in the Sapsu river has swept away an under construction bridge connecting Rajapani area and Batase of Khotang.
The flooding on Wednesday swept away the bridge due to negligence on part of the contractor company which failed to complete its task despite extension of the deadline.
The bridge should have been completed by the first week of May, but due to the flooding it is unlikely to meet the extended deadline as well. The construction of the bridge started two years ago under an agreement of a total investment of Rs 20 million.
Rajapani area's local, Punya Regmi, blamed the contractor company for the delay in construction of the bridge. He accused the company of resuming work every year after the start of the monsoon season. RSS
