In a statement on Tuesday, the FNCN said its office secretary Santosh Khadka was shot at by unknown assailants, about 100 metres from its office at Manbhawan, Lalitpur on Sunday at around 7pm as he was returning home after participating in the Easter service.
The federation has also expressed sadness over Tuesday’s arson attack on the Lalitpur-based Catholic Church, urging the government to conduct a thorough investigation into both the incidents and take action against the guilty.
“We draw the attention of the Prime Minister, Home Minister and security agencies to secure the minimum human rights as the incident challenges people’s right to travel safely,” read the statement, “FNCN expresses deep sorrow over the well-planned attacks on the Christian community and demand the government launch a fair and free investigation into these incidents.”
Khadka, who has undergone a surgery to remove the bullet, is currently under medical supervision at Patan Hospital, the statement reads.
