A Simrik Air helicopter landed on a field at Beshisahar in Lamjung district due to adverse weather conditions.

The 9N-AJZ call sign chopper landed on a field at Danaiphant in Beshisahar on Wednesday morning. Pilot Surendra Poudel said the chopper was flying to Bhimthang in Manang to rescue an ill foreigner. "Reports of weather conditions in Manag were good. It was only when the chopper reached the skies over Lamjung the weather became worse," pilot Poudel said.

Pilot Poudel was the only person onboard the chopper.

The helicopter company has been notified about the landing and no further decisions have been taken as the weather has not improved.

Poudel said the sick foreigner and his two Nepali helpers are now on the way to Gorkha through Larkepass. The foreigner is said to be suffering from high-altitude sickness.
