An elderly man died after a clash ensued between two groups at Karkach Tole in Gonahidebahi village council in Rautahat district on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Laxman Majhi.
Police said that Majhi, who sustained a deep cut on his head, breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Health Land Hospital in Gaunda of the district.
The body has been kept at the same health facility for post-mortem.
Police said that they have arrested Bramha Dev Majhi, Sambhu Majhi and Bikram Majhi for their alleged involvement in the fatal attack.
According to DSP Nabin Krishna Bhandari, police have started further investigation into the incident.
The clash ensued following a dispute after consuming alcohol.
