As many as 59 houses were gutted in a fire that broke out at Shitalpur area of Shivaraj Municipality-10 in Kapilvastu on Wednesday morning.

It has been learnt that local Sitaram Liniya was injured in the incident.

Police said that the houses belonging to Basar Miyan, Mansur Miyan and Satyanarayan Yadav among others were destroyed in the flame that started from the house of Mannan Miyan.

The fire was taken under control with the help of fire engines at around 3 pm.

Likewise, a team of Chief District Officer Bishnu Prasad Dhakal made an onsite visit of the area today itself and promised to provide Rs 10,000 each to the affected households. RSS
