Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that the Madhesi Morcha, an alliance of seven Madhes-based parties, is not against the local level elections.
Speaking with mediapersons at Biratnagar Airport on Thursday, Mahara said that Morcha just want the problems of Madhes to be resolved soon.
“The government is preparing an amendment draft with revision to bring the Madhesi parties on board the local polls,” the CPN (Maoist Centre) leader said.
The Morcha has raised more demands even though the government has decided to resolve the issue of demarcation through Federal Commission after the local elections, Mahara claimed.
Minister Mahara further said that the government would hold decisive talks with the Morcha within a couple of days.
