Over 750 households have been compelled to live in darkness after the collapse of a canal of Budum Rivulet Micro Hydropower Project being operated at Gudel of Mahakulung rural municipality in Solukhumbu.
According to Project Users Committee Chairperson Sancha Ram Rai, the electricity supply saw a grinding halt when around 30-metre section of the canal collapsed.
It minimum takes one month for maintenance since the canal was demolished in a very complicated area, Chair Rai shared.
The hydropower with the capacity of 100-KW had come into operation since two years ago.
The power disruption has adversely affected the operation of electric mills and computer classes in the area. RSS
