Gachhadar accuses Madhes-centric parties of hypocrisy
Nepal Loktantrik Forum Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar has said the local level elections would be meaningful and result oriented only if all-sides took part in it.Nepal Loktantrik Forum Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar has said the local level elections would be meaningful and result oriented only if all-sides took part in it.
Talking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Thursday, Gachhadar opined that political deadlock would end in the country only after the logical conclusion of the row over emarcation of federal states.
“The resolution of demarcation row requires two-third majority in Legislature-Parliament, for which the government requires support of the parties outside the government,” said Gachhadar. “If the government fails to conduct the elections on time, the government will topple by May 15,” asserted Gachhadar.
The local level elections are slated for May 14.
Gachhadar further said the stand taken by both the government and agitating Madhesi Morcha—an alliance of several Madhes-based parties—is wrong.
Gachhadar claimed that Madhes-based parties have started selecting candidates for the upcoming elections while on forefront they have been openly saying that they would not participate in the elections before their demand of amending the constitution to adjust their demands was met. Gachhadar accused the Madhesi parties of being hypocrites.
