The death toll in Saptari elephant attack has reached two after second person died during course of treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Roshan Jha, 22, and Sanjay Safi, 30. They breathed their last during treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, informed Saptari SP Anuraj Dibedi.
Five others were injured in the attack. They have been admitted to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences and Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj.
The elephant from the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve entered Saptari's old headquarters in Hanuman Nagar and wrecked havoc on Tuesday morning.
Saptari DSP Laxmi Raj Adhikari informed locals and police chased the elephant towards the Koshi River.
