There were 12.148 million voters for the second Constituent Assembly elections held in 2013.
Out of the total voters, 7.06 million are male and 6.98 million female, according to EC Secretary Gopinath Mainali.
There will also be 143 third gender people exercising their franchise. The EC has said that it would start printing voters’ identity cards based on the voters list.
“At first, voters’ ID cards for remote regions will be printed,” said EC Spokesperson Surya Sharma.
The EC’s announcement comes barely a couple of days after the regional parties claimed that tens of thousands of eligible voters had been left out in Province 2.
During a meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Nepali Congress (NC) and Madhesi Morcha on Friday, Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Upendra Yadav claimed that 100,000 voters had not been included yet.
