Gulariya (bardiya)
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), the Indian border security force, has objected to the fencing activities carried out in some 80 metres north on the Nepal side of the Nepal-India border from Rajapur based the border pillar number 86 and 87.
According to a local Bishnu Rijal, SSB personnel with arms entered in Nepali side and threatened them not to construct the fence there saying that the area was disputed.
Fencing activities were in progress in Rajapur Municipality and Geruwa Rural Municipality near the border area in the Nepali side but SSB was obstructing the tasks, locals complained.
Locals are fencing with electric wire in the jungle there aimed at preventing the wild elephants from entering Nepal from the Indian border side. RSS
