A huge cache of ammunition was found at Martel area in Salpasilicho Village Council-5 of Bhojpur district on Friday.

According to the District Police Office, Bhojpur, a two-inch morter, tear gas shells, light firearms, socket bombs, home-made pistols, grenades, SLR bullets and explosives were found from the district.

Local Angelu Sherpa found the ammunition in a box while he was cleaning an old house, police informed.

The ammunition has been stored at the Dovan Police Post.

Police informed that a bomb disposal squad of the Nepal Army has been dispatched to the location.

Police suspected that the Maoist guerrillas might have stored the ammunition in the house during the decade-long armed conflict. RSS
