Security personnel on Wednesday found the body of a Nepal Army soldier four days after he went missing in the Narayani river at Bharatpur, Chitwan district.
The deceased NA man identified as Saroj Pokharel, of Bharatpur-21, had jumped into the river along with his eighteen-year-old girl friend on Saturday afternoon.
A boatman, however, managed to rescue the girl from the incident site.
According to SP Deepak Thapa at District Police Office, Chitwan, the body of Pokharel was found at Kavreghat in Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City-16.
Preparations are underway to hand over the body to his family members after post-mortem, SP Thapa said.
Pokharel was posted at the Disaster Management Battalion of Nepal Army in Rasaili of Chitwan.
