The municipal offices of Kanchanrup, Dakneshwori, Bodebarsain, Khadak, Shambhunath, Surunga and Hanuman Nagar Kankalini, and the village council offices of Krishnasabaran, Chinnamasta, Mahadeva, Saptakoshi, Tirahut, Tilathi Koiladi, Rupani, Belhi Chapena and Bishnupur were padlocked because the government does not seem serious about addressing our demands, said local SLMM leader, Gajendra Mandal.
The SLMM activists also burned the signboard of Hanuman Nagar Kankalini Municipal Office.
Meanwhile, a meeting called by the District Election Office to prepare for the local elections has been postponed at the request of the SLMM.
Acting Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Katuwal said the meeting slated for Sunday was postponed at the request of the SLMM.
Protest continues in Parbat
PARBAT: The local people from five villages under Jaljala Village Council continued their agitation for the eighth consecutive day on Sunday, demanding to change the centre of the village council.
The protesters from Majhphant, Dhairing, Banau, Shalija and Nanglibang staged a demonstration in Kusma, the district headquarters of Parbat, to press their demand.
They also organised a sit-in at the District Administration Office and the District Coordination Committee Office.
