PM urges Morcha to take part in local polls, proposes amendment sans state border revision

In a meeting held with Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha leaders on Wednesday, PM Dahal urged the Madhesi leaders to take part in the local election by passing the amendment bill leaving the issue of state delineation, informed Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP) Chairman Mahanta Thakur. He further said that the Morcha will hold discussions regarding the PM’s proposal and give their official decision.
During the meet, PM Dahal has proposed the top leaders of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) that the government would form a commission that would finalise the issues of demarcation before the provincial and federal elections.
According to PM Dahal’s press advisor Govinda Acharya, the Morcha leaders were positive on PM Dahal’s proposal.
“The Morcha leaders were positive on PM’s proposal and said they would respond only after the Morcha’s scheduled meeting at 1 pm,” Acharya said.
Morcha is discussing about the PM’s proposal at the office of Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party in Bijulibazar.
With the end of the week-long ultimatum on Tuesday the Morcha was preparing to withdraw its support to the Dahal led government.
