Police on Monday arrested a man with 14 kg marijuana from Manglabare Chok of Dharan-11 in Sunsari district.
A joint team of Narcotics Drugs Control Law Enforcement Unit Biratnagar and Dharan Ward Police arrested Tikaram Rai, 35, with the contraband drugs.
Police registered a case at Sunsari District Court against Rai and extended his judicial remand for further investigation, DSP at Area Police Office Dekendra Khatiwada said.
According to DSP Khatiwada, Rai was arrested at Manglabare while he was carrying the marijuana by a scooter (Ko 18 Pa 860). Police recovered 14 bags of marijuana, containing one kg marijuana each bag, along with a mobile phone and Rs 5400 cash.
Police said Rai was transporting the marijuana to India for selling.
