New mother dies due to lack of timely treatment
A new mother died during the course of treatment at the Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital in Birgunj, Parsa district, on Sunday.A new mother died during the course of treatment at the Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital in Birgunj, Parsa district, on Sunday.
Chandra Jyoti, 20, of Nagardaha VDC-4 in the district died hours after giving birth to a baby girl.
Jabahir Sah Turaha, the husband of deceased, blamed that his wife died due to the negligence of health workers in the hospital.
Jyoti had given birth to the daughter at around 1:00 am and was admitted to the hospital at around 2:00 am after experiencing a complication.
Relatives of Jyoti said, "She died due to lack of treatment as health workers did not inform doctors even after she was in pain for two hours."
Medical Superintendent of the Hospital Dr Chittaranjan Shah, however, said that Jyoti died due to excessive bleeding.
She suffered from excessive bleeding while giving birth to the child at home and her condition was serious at the time she was admitted here, added Shah.
The health condition of the newly-born baby is normal. RSS
