A Nepali migrant worker has been sentenced to four-year in prison on the charge of trying to steal a gold chain from a local woman Malaysia.
A Kuala Lumpur based Sessions Court convicted Kumar Daral, 26, a security guard, of attempting to steal a chain from a 21-year-old female student, Malaysian media reported. His jail term includes an additional one year for living illegally in Malaysia.
The court held him guilty of trying to steal a gold chain worth Rs 20,000 Ringgit from Nur Hafizah Sarina Zulkifli while she was washing her hands in the morning of Dec 29, 2016, Bernama.com said. He was arrested on the same day. He reportedly confessed to his crime.
