Hetauda police in two separate incidents arrested three Indians with Rs 3.5 million worth of hashish and marijuana.
Police from Ratomate check post discovered 125 kilogram hashish packed in 217 plastic packets from an Indian vehicle (BR29 B 7141) hidden in a false bottom in the vehicle's roof. Another Indian truck (BR07 G 5340) was found hiding 62 kilogram of marijuana on Sunday. Both the vehicle were on their way to Raxaul, India.
SP Basanta Kumar Lama informed police were tipped off about the hashish. The vehicle had loaded the hashish in Dhading and had reached Hetauda via Naranghat route. "The discovered hashish is worth Rs 3.1 million," said SP Lama.
Police arrested Meraj Sah, 30, and Mithlesh Sahani, 26, with the hashish while truck driver Manoj Kumar Yadav, 28, was arrested with marijuana. Yadav, in his statement to police, has admitted of loading the marijuana at Chuniya in Tribhuvan Rajpath, said DSP Bamdev Gautam. The discovered marijuana is worth Rs 400,000.
