Bajhang
Chainpur, the district headquarters of Bajhang, was shut down by its residents on Friday, demanding Surma Devi Electricity Private Limited to supply electricity regularly.
Locals said that the supply of electricity was irregular in Chainpur and neighbouring areas even after the electricity infrastructure was upgraded four months ago with the assistance of Japan government. Omjung Bahadur Singh, former chief of Bajhang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said Rs 850 million was spent to upgrade the electricity infrastructure and still they were getting power for limited period.
