The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) on Friday has decided to adopt cow as its election symbol.
After a heated debate among leaders over the electoral symbol since long, the central committee meeting of the party held in Dhumbarahi of the Capital today decided to pick cow as the electoral symbol.
The faction close to Pashupati Shumsher Rana and Prakash Chandra Lohani, who are from the former RPP, were retaining the plough as electoral symbol, while those from the Kamal Thapa's faction had sought to continue with the cow as the party's electoral symbol.
The meeting further has decided to launch 'national unity procession campaign' to be kicked off from June 21 to 25 across the country, said leader Rajaram Shrestha.
The campaign will reach door to door across the nation and it will begin from Gorkha, Jhapa, Kanchanpur and Kathmandu Valley, Shrestha added.
The meeting has also welcomed the local polls and has urged the government to address the genuine demands of Madhes-centric parties. RSS
