Lamichhane meets Modi in New Delhi
RSP chair discusses bilateral ties with Indian prime minister after meetings with top BJP leaders, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and Home Minister Shah.Post Report
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday as part of his ongoing visit to India.
Lamichhane met Modi at the Indian Prime Minister’s Office, where the two discussed Nepal-India relations and issues of mutual interest.
Sharing details of the meeting on X, Modi said he was pleased to meet the RSP chair and welcomed his desire to work closely for a shared and prosperous future.
“Nepal is a priority partner under our Neighbourhood First policy, and we look forward to collaborating with the new government to elevate the special and multifaceted relationship between our two countries to greater heights,” Modi said.
Lamichhane arrived in New Delhi on Monday at the invitation of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin. Since Tuesday, he has held a series of high-level meetings, including with BJP leaders at the party headquarters.
He also met Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Lamichhane is scheduled to visit the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on Thursday.
Members of the delegation include Lamichhane’s spouse Nikita Poudel, party Joint General Secretary Bipin Acharya, Secretariat member Deepak Bohara and personal secretary Pradeep Acharya.
