The Central Security Committee has decided to mobilise 226,000 security personnel for the local elections slated for May 14.
A meeting of the Committee held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday made the decision to that effect.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi directed the chiefs of all security agencies to move ahead according to the plan.
Home Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi, Defence Secretary Shreedhar Sapkota, Nepal Police officiating Chief Dr Dinesh Chandra Pokhrel, Armed Police Force (APF) Chief Singh Bahadur Shrestha, National Investigation Department Chief Dilip Regmi and Nepal Army Major General Bal Dev Mahat among other officials were present in the meeting.
