Kathmandu
Vehicular movement along BP Highway has resumed from Tuesday morning after two days obstruction.
A section of the road had collapsed near Trivenighat at Sitalpati VDC in Khurkot, Parbat, above the Sunkoshi river on Sunday night. Traffic came to a complete halt following the road collapse.
A team of Nepal Army and Nepal Police with excavators of road division opened the road via a diversion from this morning. One way traffic has resumed in the diversion, police said. Only light vehicles are allowed and movements of heavy vehicles have been prohibited, said SP Umashankar Panjiyar.
The highway inaugurated by the late prime minister Sushil Koirala in July 2015 was constructed with a Japanese grant of Rs21.5 billion.
