The Election Commission has stated that local elections could be held by the end of May if the election dates were announced by February 19.
During a programme organised in the Capital on Tuesday, Election Commissioner Ila Sharma shared that the civic polls could be held on May 15 and June 4 if the dates for the same were announced by February 19.
She further shared that the Commission was working out in this regard as well.
Sharma added that the Commission was ready to hold the elections to bail the country out of longstanding political crisis.
