Police on Monday arrested four persons in possession of a fake pistol from Naya Bazaar, Kathmandu, Nepal Police said.
One of the suspects has been identified as Purna Bahadur Tamang, 30, of Samari-2, Nuwakot and currently residing at Dhungedhara, Kathmandu.
Acting on a tip-off that a group of four to five persons were walking around the Naya Bazaar area brandishing the pistol with the intent to commit robbery, a police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Lainchaur, intercepted them and confiscated the pistol (USG-MM-Peretta).
Later, police came to know that the seized pistol was fake.
