Former Prime Minister and Naya Shakti coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai held a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar on Saturday.

During the meeting, the duo discussed contemporary political issues, according to the PM’s Secretariat.

They also discussed constitution implementation, local polls and ways to bail the country out of current political crisis.

PM Dahal urged leader Bhattarai to help hold local elections and implement the constitution underscoring that civic polls are the first means to implement the statute.

In response, Dr Bhattarai said constitution amendment would be an appropriate way to hold local polls.

Dr Bhattarai also drew the attention of PM Dahal to provide additional compensation to those who have been affected by Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project, said the Secretariat.
