The seven-member team comprising lawmakers has been tasked with conducting a detailed study on management, security and immigration at the TIA. The team will have to submit its study report to the committee within 15 days, informed the team’s chair Mohan Singh Rathore.
On January 7, a team of Nepal Police’s Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) confiscated 33 kg of illegal gold that passed undetected through the TIA security check. The investigation panel went to TIA today to study the security lapses at the only international airport of the country.
After the inspection, team’s chair Rathore said they would soon form a sub-committee to conduct further investigation into the matter. “We will take further action based on the recommendation of the sub-committee,” said Rathore.
