A person died and two others sustained critical injuries when a truck they were travelling in met with an accident at Chamatdi of Sittadh – 2 in Baitadi on Thursday.

According to Inspector Kamal Bista of the District Police Office, Baitadi, the deceased has been identified as assistant driver Kishor Singh Aire, 19, of Srikot-3.

Police said that truck driver Mohan Raj Joshi, who appeared to be in his 20s, and Sagar Chand, 21, of Srikot-4 were seriously injured in the incident.

Aire was rushed to a hospital in Dhangadhi, but breathed his last on the way, police informed.

His body has been taken to the District Hospital,Baitadi for autopsy.

The incident occurred after the truck (Na 3 Kha 5723) skidded off the road and fell some 20 metre down at around 7 pm.
