A girl suffering from malnutrition has died for want of treatment in Dadeldhura on Monday.

Five–year–old Bina Dhami, daughter of Muna Dhami of Chaukham – 9 died of malnutrition at 10 am. The girl weighed just five kilos at the time of her death, according to a relative Janak Singh Dhami.

Bina, who was born looking emaciated, had been taken to sub regional hospital in Dadeldhura last month for treatment after which she was referred to Dhangadi. She died at her home after the family could not treat her due to extreme poverty.

Dhami added that the family had tried to raise funds for the treatment but in vain. The doctors had suggested the family to take Bina to Nutrition Rehabilitation Home in Dhangadi, but due to lack of money they could not do so. Muna's two other daughters and a son are in healthy condition. RSS
