Jajarkot
Not a month has gone by since the 4.5 kilowatt Piko Hydro Power Project was inaugurated at Garkhakot-9 in Jajarkot, the canal that channelises the water from the hydropower collapsed on Sunday.
Supply of electricity that had been illuminating as many as 61 households has been disrupted since the collapse of the canal, according to the Electricity Users' Committee Chair Harka Bahadur Budha.
The resumption of power supply will depend on the repair of the canal, it is said. Due to financial constraints, the repair operation may take longer, shared Committee Chair Budha.
Locals have claimed that the contractors did not pay attention to quality while constructing the cannel, leading to the collapse of the sub-standard waterway. RSS
